April Gourdie is a textile design graduate from Auckland University of Technology. April specialises in knitwear, specifically Shima Seiki digital knitting, and the exploration of materiality in textiles for apparel and accessories. She focuses on exploring colour, pattern and evoking feelings of nostalgia through a childlike aesthetic. Her work is further motivated by digitisation and human interaction with technology, exploring how people now live in multiple realities and dimensions.
